Step 1- Read all the comments from the previous assignment.
Step 2- Choose one comment which is thoughtful.
Step 3-
First, paraphrase the comment you are responding to: For example: “Ms. Atkins thinks that…”
Then, write a question about the chosen comment. The question must be: clear, sincere, useful and be the sort of question which leads to more questions. The question you write must complicate the comment’s argument, make the reader of the comment you are questioning think deeper. Stir up some intellectual trouble
Do not ask them, "Is this significant?" this is not a useful question because it is the question which was asked in the previous assignment. If you question the logic behind the student’s argument that a topic is significant, then ask questions which will challenge the student’s assumptions.

Eric Jiang, at first you talk about George Washington and the war against Britten. You said that his deed helped us today. But then later on, you talked about him not helping us in the future, because you believe that we would separate from England sooner or later.
I think that George Washington believed that we will be under England's rule forever, thats why he had his war. What made you think that we would separate from England eventually.
Steven Ferraro stated "I think this because what George Washington did over two centuries ago won't help us with the economic problem this country is facing. Or what the Shakers worshiped back in the 1700's won't help us with the War in Iraq."
My question for Steven is: you only said that George Washington and the Shakers won't help us with our problems but will any other topics?
Alonso stataed that George Washington was one of the most improtant facts of United States of America. My question to Alonso is how do we know George Washington is improtant to United States? Where is the prove that he did help America and that he is really improtant?
Alonso said "George Washington was one of the most important facts of the United States of America. What about the 1812 war with the War Hawks and Britain? something special might happen because of the history of 1812. You never know, anything might happen."
My question for Alonso is: What is George Washington going to do for the problems we face today, it's not like we can dig him up and say what do we do? And also What does the War Hawks have to do with anything today? They were just a bunch of people obbsesed with killing and carrying on wars forever.
Steven Ferraro stated that 1810 would NOT affect the up coming year 2010. He also stated "I think this because what George Washington did over two centuries ago won't help us with the economic problem this country is facing". Which I disagree on.
Here’s my question too you Mr. Ferraro, why do you think George Washington will not be important to 2010? I mean after all he is our FIRST president.
Yvette said "what happened back then won’t prepare us for the tough economic problems we are going through".My question is if the 19th century won't help us with the economic problems what will it help us with?
Leanna Manashvily said that Hamilton's economy plan did not help today's economy as it is having a lot of problems today. Well, he did many things to help the economy, for example, HE is the one who started up the economy when we became our own nation. He created America's first national bank. If he didn't create it then then we might not have that system now, making our lives harder. So my question for her is, "How do you think the economy would be without Hamilton? And what would you think would better the economy?"
Eric Jiang said that if George Washington had not lead the war against Britain, we would have fought against them sooner or later. He also said that it would not affect us is we didn't go against them back then. We were going to have to go against them and fight them.
My question for him is: What if things were going really bad back then and they had to do something fast? If we had to wait to go against them and fight, it could have been worse and we might not even be able to have fought them.
Steven Ferraro said that 1810 would NOT affect next year. He also stated "I think this because what George Washington did over two centuries ago won't help us with the economic problem this country is facing". I disagree on this becouse George Wahshington lead an army to free us from the British.
This is my question Steven, "why do you think George Washington will not be important to 2010?"
Yvette said "what happened back then won’t prepare us for the tough economic problems we are going through."
My question for Yvette is What about Hamilton's Economic Plan? He paid off the national debt from the Revolutionary War with bonds. Maybe that could give us an idea to save this country from another depression.
Ekin stated in her post that “Yes, i do think the Federalist Era of 1810 will effect the upcoming year 2010. I belive this because the war George Washington had over two centuries ago with britan did effect us, we might have still be under britans rule.”
Well how do you know that under Britain's rule we would be doing so poorly now as a country? Maybe if we were still under Britain's rule we wouldn't be having these economic issues. How do you know that what George Washington did wasn't a huge mistake for us as a country now?
Jackie Situ, you said we would lack our transport(Over Seas) systems and will not be able to trade, or go to other countries. What if somebody else discovered a different way to cross over seas without steam power? It doesn't have to be steam power that could get you over seas u know.
Steven Ferraro stated that 1810 would not affect the up coming year 2010. He also stated "I think this because what George Washington did over two centuries ago won't help us with the economic problem this country is facing". Which I disagree on.
My question to Steven is that George Washington would he help us today with economic crisis.
Beatrice M said that most events back then are important like James Watts inventing the steam engine. My question is that if he didn't invent it wouldn't someone else think of that.
Alex believes that most of the events in the Federalist Era are important to our lives today because if George Washington didn’t have a war with Britain, we might still been under their rule. She also said that we have ships today because James Watts invented them.
My question is: Are there any other reasons why the events in the Federalist Era that are important to our lives today?
Leanna states:
“No, that was back in 1810. It doesn't affect America today. What Hamilton did a long time ago did not do any good for the economy today. The economy today is very bad. His ideas were good but it didn't help the economy.”
Even though you say that 1810 doesn’t affect America today, you only referred to Hamilton’s Plan. Although he did create the first bank, and there’s also the national mint. So my question for you is, how did Hamilton’s plans go wrong, and is there anything that would make the economy better?
Leanna Manashvily stated that Hamilton did nothing for the economy and did not help the economy. He started the economy and led our nation to success. If it wasnt for him, it would make our life's miserable. He started the first bank. If he didnt do all this, we wouldnt be able to get loans for college or pay for anything.
Steven Ferraro said that he doesn't think George Washington has made a difference. He thinks that what George Washington did in 1810 won't affect us now. I think he could not be more wrong. George Washington led us to victory against Britain. If it wasn't for his leadership and wits, we might not have won the war. What if we had lost Steven? Do you think America would be the same? You answer that question. Tell me how you possibly think that George Washington hasn't influenced the country.
Beatrice M. stated if we hadn’t declared war against Brittan we might be still under their rule, and If James Watts hadn’t modified the steam engine ideas might not have been developed further.
MY question is had James Watts never came along wouldn’t some else have thought about another form of transportations sooner to get around faster? Had George Washington never became president besides a few changes in currency would the country have changed much? For better? For worse?
