Step 1- Read all the comments from the previous assignment.
Step 2- Choose one comment which is thoughtful.
Step 3-
First, paraphrase the comment you are responding to: For example: “Mr. Bello thinks that…”
Then, write a question about the chosen comment. The question must be: clear, sincere, useful and be the sort of question which leads to more questions. The question you write must complicate the comment’s argument, make the reader of the comment you are questioning think deeper. Stir up some intellectual trouble

Luis Said,"When the Europeans came to North America it changed their lives forever with the guns religion and ect."My question for Luis is how do you think life in North America be like if the Europeans never came here?
Alex said"The main disadvantage the Native Americans had was the diseases the Europeans brought with them to the "New World". Such as smallpox, measles' the flu, etc. The Europeans said in journals that they "were killed by the wrath of god" My Question for alex is,"Did the disease also kill the europeans,or just the native americans?"
Yvette said,
"These domesticated animals carried diseases such as smallpox, measles, the flu, and etc. The Native Americans were weakened, and therefore they were not able to defend their land when the Europeans arrived. Many of the Native Americans died so this gave the Europeans a great advantage over them."
My question is, if it was a disadvantage when the diseases came, did they have a way to fight it or animals of their own that already released diseases to them at the time and before they arrived??
Alex said, "The main disadvantage the Native Americans had was the diseases the Europeans brought with them to the "New World". Such as smallpox, measles' the flu, etc. The Europeans said in journals that they "were killed by the wrath of god" or something like that. This made it eaiser for the Europeans to conquer or kill the Native Americans and conquer the "New World"." My question is, Why are the Europeans immune to the diesase?
Leanna said “Western Europeans set sail to conquer the world and not the Native Americans, Africans, or Asains. This is because the Spaniards which is part of Western Europe fought with more complex weapons and wanted to take control of the New World. Native Americans lived in the new world. The Spaniards determined that gold and silver were believed to be abundant in the land called th “New World.”
My question is how you are sure the Europeans knew about the “New World” and its contents before they even got there?
Alex stated that in the Europeans journals they said they were killed by the wrath of god or something like that. my question(s) to mrs. ciardullo is did you really see the journals for yourself or got this information some where else? is this a primary or secondary sorce? if it is a secondary sorce then why did u say something like that?
Leanna said that the Spaniards had the advantage over Native Americans and conquered them because they had more advanced weapons. My question is "What would have been the outcome of this situation if the Spaniards were at the same level of technology as the Native Americans"?
Alex said "The main disadvantage the Native Americans had was the diseases the Europeans brought with them to the "New World". Such as smallpox, measles' the flu, etc. The Europeans said in journals that they "were killed by the wrath of god" or something like that. This made it eaiser for the Europeans to conquer or kill the Native Americans and conquer the "New World".
My Question is that why the Europeans were not effected by the diseases? Even though the Europeans are strong enough to fight the diseases, they can still die from it, like the native Americans.
Beatrice said"The Europeans killed many people just by bringing diseases with them." My question is wouldn't the Native Americans have diseases and kill the Europeans since they are not from there and not used to it?
Steven Ferraro said:
“Europeans had control of the new world in 1491. They did because they had more domesticated animals which helped them farm. They then had more free time on their hands which would lead to more inventions. And civilizations who had inventions had more populations growth.”
My question is:
What would have happened if there was no free time and not enough domesticated animals?
Alex said that Native Americans had diseases that came from the Europeans into the New World. Such as measles, smallpox, the flu, etc. This was their main disadvantage. She also said that the Europeans said in their journals that they "were killed by the wrath of god". They said it made it easier for the Europeans to conquer the new world. My question for Alex is,"Did the Europeans succeed in conquering the New World?"
Yvette said that the Europeans brought the domesticated animals to the ‘‘New World” that carried diseases.
The animals carried the following diseases: measles, smallpox and the flu and these diseases infected the Native Americans. Since the diseases were new to the Native Americans many of them died and or became very ill.
My question is that, “If the Europeans had never brought the domesticated animals to America or if the Native Americans had cures for the diseases would they have been able to defend their land?”
Alex said that the main disadvantage for the Native Americans was that the Europeans with them. It made it easier for Europeans to conquer the "New World".
My question is did the Native Americans do anything to prevent the diseases from spreading evrywhere?
Luis said,“Europeans conquered the world becouse they had an advantage on their economy.Other places like Asia, Africa, and the native americans didn't have a good economy like the europeans. They had many crops. When they came to "the new world",the Europeans brought technologies, ideas, plants, and animals that were new to America and would transform peoples' lives.they brought guns, iron tools, and weapons; Christianity and Roman law; sugarcane and wheat; horses and cattle. The bad thing they brought was diseases against which the Indian peoples had no defenses. The Europeans also had colonies to conquer "the new world".
My question is, are you implying that the European invasion had its benefits for the native populations since they brought the advanced technologies, the ideas, the new crops?
Jackie said " that the main disadvantage the Native americans had was that the Europeans brough the diseases with them to the " New World." My question for Jackie was that "How many people died in Europe when they got the diseases?"
Yvette said, "These domesticated animals carried diseases such as smallpox, measles, the flu, and etc. The Native Americans were weakened, and therefore they were not able to defend their land when the Europeans arrived. Many of the Native Americans died so this gave the Europeans a great advantage over them."
My question is how did the animals get the diseases before the Europeans arrived if the Native Americans never had the disease before?
Sade stated "sailors began to use tools such as the magectic compass and the astrolabe. Instuments made it possible for sailor to travel and open doors to conquer the world."
My question is with their tools wouldnt they just sail to the areas they are aware of not foreign places?
Catherine said,
When the Europeans arrived to North America, they had diseases with them. Since the Native Americans are not immune to them, they suffer from the sickness.
Question: What did the diseases that the europeans brought to the Native Americans do to them and how did this effect there nation?
Dakota thinks that one of the disadvantages is that the Native Americans had was that when the Europeans took over the new world they took all gold and came to take the land.
My question for Dakota is why do you think the Europeans were so greedy?
